Recently, as the cost of digitisation and compression technologies have reduced in Video Surveillance.  It is not very hard to see that the explosive demand for video surveillance creating a deluge of video to be viewed live and stored for later forensic analysis.

Traditionally, video analytics was performed at the receiver side on the decoded video.  But recently. There are been attempt to do the Analytics at the edge (on raw images on the cameras). At Cradle, we believe that performing video content analytics at the edge would help overall accuracy and benefits of such solutions. Since the video analytics is done before the image is compressed, the image will not need to be decompressed again at the server for video content analysis. The analytics can generate the metadata on the image source itself for more accurate reasoning.
